around 8 km south of Merano the village of Postal is located at 270 m above sea level. The idyllic and sunny village at the verge of a nature reserve on the banks of the river Adige boasts an excellent, accessible location and has developed into a favourite holidaying and wellness spot in the course of the past few years. It is also well known for some secret wine and gastronomic hot spots and a number of great pizza places.

Tucked between a nature reserve and an elevated plain...
The building of the dual carriageway from Merano to Bolzano a few years ago had visibly positive effects on Postal, which now profits from a much more calm traffic situation. The living quality in the village was noticeably increased. Instead of endless traffic the village nowadays enjoys a bike path connecting Postal with the cycling path network covering all of South Tyrol. The village is an excellent starting point for long hikes and walks as well as cycling tours through the whole Adige Valley into the Passirio Valley or the Unterland region.
In addition Postal is situated at the bottom of the medieval looking Monzoccolo Mountain, that in the evening is bathed in a rose red light. The elevated plains of the Monzoccolo offer a unique hiking paradise between lush larch forests and green mountain pastures. Plus, it only takes a few minutes ride on the funicular to get there.
