San Vigilio
History
Manually worked flint stones found in the area are proof that the mountain, with its peak of 1906 m, was inhabited in prehistoric times or was at least a favoured hunting ground. The origin and the actual purpose of the many hollowed out stone bowls discovered here are still a bit of a mystery.
Today
Throughout the ages, the San Vigilio served time and time again as a retreat for locals to hide. Today the area has become a retreat for all those who want to leave their everyday stress behind. At the upper station of the San Vigilio cable car, all those in search of peace and serenity will find the five star hotel vigilius mountain resort.
