Lana and its surroundings - High season all year round
In spring time, the rich orchards and forest paths offer ample opportunity for taking a walk, Nordic walking, jogging or cycling tours across forests and green fields; and in May, the season for tennis and golf begins.
In summer, outdoor enthusiasts set their goals higher - they hike to the Alpine pastures and climb mountains and peaks. This is the season for mountain-biking, climbing, parasailing and rafting, while water enthusiasts have a huge variety of outdoor pools to choose from, including the thermal springs in Merano and the pools at Gargazon.
In autumn then, when the views from the peaks are at their clearest and most beautiful, when the forests begin to change their colour and temperatures are still mild, the Merano countryside offers all any fan of outdoor activity could ever wish for. The biking season - for mountain bikers and touring cyclists alike - continues on until mid-November.
In winter, the ski slopes beckon at our local peak S. Vigilio along with four other winter sports areas in Lana and surroundings. Together they form part of the great ski arena around the Ortler Mountain, which boasts 16 separate winter sports areas in total. The offers are endless here for skiing, sledding, snowboarding, freestyle, telemark, ice skating, ice climbing, cross-country skiing and ski touring.
The new SkiCard Merano offers not only all the benefits of the local mild climate and the magic of winter in the mountains for visitors and locals alike, but also a rich and varied supporting program with a great selection of additional offers.
