Lana and its surroundings are an outstanding example for the harmonious fusion of the Tyrolean passion for traditional food and the sophisticated Italian cuisine. Where the best ingredients of the country are used it is not a matter of "either-or" but of "as-well-as": The everyday cuisine of Lana's inhabitants not only consists of properly prepared antipasti und starters but also of savoury South Tyrolean mains or pastries which are a link to the cooking traditions of the former Danube Monarchy. Among pizza, pasta, local dumplings, Carpaccio or so called "Kaiserschmarren" (shredded Austrian-style pancake), all served in rustic taverns or in classy and modern environments, the South Tyrolean cuisine leaves nothing to be desired.
