9 April - 22 April 2012
Every year in April when the apple orchards in the Adige Valley turn into a sea of blossoms, Lana celebrates a two-week-long Blossom Festival. On this year's programme there are tastings of rare wines, biking tours along the Etsch Valley, a visit to the Museum of fruit-growing in Lana, hiking tours to traditional vineyards as well as gala dinners with culinary delights including local wild herbs.
The crowning highlight is the farmer's mile of indulgence, set in the pedestrian area in the centre of town (Gries), taking place at the end of the Blossom Festival. Small local producers offer fine quality regional products such as fruit, honey, herbs and spices as well as bacon, cheese, wine and spirits in the framework of this feast of culinary joys. Many offer tastings before you buy. This way "conscious" consumers, who value fair trade and the quality of natural regional produce, can carry out their personal "quality control" and exchange knowledge with local sellers.
