Christmas time in Lana is harmonious and full of traditions, especially on weekends when the Thalerhof Christmas market in the pedestrian area Am Gries opens its doors to visitors. The authenticity of the wooden market booths in the historical ambience of the old manor house, where choirs and brass bands are holding concerts, creates an atmosphere of contemplation and tranquillity.
The anticipation of Christmas will also be awakened by the exclusively hand-made and local farmer's products the Thalerhof Marktl has to offer: Enjoy aromatic mountain herbs or herb salt, get yourself beewax candles, art ceramics or turned wooden products, or buy fine chocolate, refined cheese and award-winning spirits. And while seasonal songs of the choirs will charm you, deliciously spiced mulled wine brings you the taste of Christmas.
Arts and crafts will be on display in the "Werkbank" which is an old public cellar with foundation stones dating back into the 14th century. On weekends the "Werkbank" opens its doors for the traditional nativity scene exhibition. There is also a very special Advent programme for children and adults alike.
